About the archive
The decision
behind the outcome.
Internet Case Files documents what happened, why it happened, what the evidence supports, and what the public record still cannot answer.
The internet is full of compressed stories: a beloved product was killed, a company failed to adapt, a platform simply disappeared. Those summaries are memorable. They are not always complete.
Each case reconstructs the timeline, identifies the pivotal decisions, and separates verified facts from interpretation through a public Evidence Ledger.
Editorial independence
Internet Case Files is an independent publication by Steve Thoms. It is not affiliated with the companies, products, or communities it investigates.
Scope
Cases may cover companies, products, websites, applications, technologies, communities, or internet events. A case can be closed, active, unresolved, or reopened when material evidence changes the record.
